The sweet side is clear here, from vanilla and caramel on the nose to brown sugar, maple and dark caramel on the palate. What keeps it interesting is the documented counterweight of pepper, cinnamon and seasoned oak, followed by a spicy finish with dark fruit. That balance makes this a warmly appealing bourbon profile, though the sweetness remains a central feature rather than a background note. The overall character sounds full-bodied and forceful, with plenty of spice alongside the richer notes.

Sweet caramel meets peppery oak; a lively contrast.

The long finish is what draws my attention here. Lingering oak and baking spice give the warming close a firm shape, while dark fruit and caramel keep it from being solely spice-led. That balance suits my preference for oak and spice, though the full-bodied, powerful palate suggests a more forceful bourbon than someone seeking restraint might want. Brown sugar, maple and dark caramel bring plenty of sweetness, with cinnamon, seasoned oak and pepper providing a useful counterweight. Vanilla and caramel on the nose sit alongside oak and peppery spice, setting up much the same contrast. The appeal, to my mind, is that the sweetness remains present through a long, distinctly spicy finish.
