Nose
Bursting with intense, rich fruity red berry notes of raspberry, lingonberry, and red currants, smothered in honey. Evocative of an Eton Mess pudding, with a zing of candied citrus peel, mellowing to smooth vanilla and butterscotch sweetness. Also notes of melon, red grape, cocoa powder, and wood tannins.
Palate
Deliciously sweet and fruity to begin, with caramel, golden syrup, heather honey, toffee, and vanilla custard. Driven by juicy dried fruits like raisin, sultana, dried orange, cranberry, and apricot. Baked apple with butterscotch and cinnamon sauce adds richness. Turns more woody and savoury with notes of jammy forest fruits, raspberries, brambles, redcurrant jelly, fudge, milk chocolate covered raisins, and spices like cinnamon and allspice.
Finish
Continues with tannins from the wine barrels, savoury spices, and woody notes that grip and linger. Malted cereal and cocoa powder are detected, with jammy red fruits, plum, pineapple, and sticky sweet fruits in syrup or honey. An incredibly elegant and fruitful whisky.
