The Aberlour 12 Year Old Double Cask Matured is a fine example of how the crisp, citrus character of Aberlour's new distillate is softened by double cask maturation. It is matured in a combination of American oak casks (previously used for bourbon) and European oak casks (previously used for Oloroso sherry), bringing rich depth and balance to its core character. This process imparts notes of honeyed fruit and sweet spice, making it a popular and accessible Speyside single malt.
