Description

Aberlour A'Bunadh Batch #35 is a robust and unfiltered single malt whisky, bottled at natural cask strength, that exemplifies the intensity of Oloroso sherry cask maturation. It is part of a collection of small batch bottlings from Aberlour, first introduced in 1997, and is a non-age statement expression believed to contain whiskies aged between 5 and 25 years old. Matured exclusively in Spanish Oloroso sherry butts, it is bottled without chill-filtration, preserving its character, aroma, and mouthfeel.

Nose
Terrific aromas of allspice, praline and spiced orange, in harmony with deep notes of Oloroso Sherry. Figs, rum soaked plum cake, lots of cinnamon and cloves, gingerbread, pronounced prunes, black cherries, Christmas cake, nutty, oak, dark chocolate.
Palate
Orange, black cherries, dried fruit and ginger, spiked with dark bitter chocolate and enriched with lingering Sherry and oak. Superlatively full bodied and creamy. Intense sherry-soaked fruits, fruitcake, molasses, caramel, warming spices like cinnamon, nutmeg, and a touch of black pepper.
Finish
Robust and long lasting, with bittersweet notes of exotic spices, dark chocolate and oak. Lingering notes of dried fruits, dark chocolate, and spiced oak. Hints of cocoa, nuts, and a pleasant tannic dryness.
