Nose
Very sweet and sugary, with lots of fruit, a sherry bomb and candy explosion. Nutter notes, light spices, cloves, allspice, heavy stewed fruits, honey, red berries, blackberry, cherry, currant, oak, sweetness, jammy preserves, rich muscatels, mixed dried fruits slathered with caramelised brown sugar, praline, and spiced orange.
Palate
Smooth and buttery initially, followed by peppery and overwhelming notes. Bitter oak, raisins, sulphury, rich jamminess, toffee, honey, blackberry, stewed fruits, fig, lightly nutty, tobacco, pepper, cocoa, cigar box oakiness, intense molasses syrup, orange, black cherries, dried fruit, ginger spiked with dark bitter chocolate, enriched with sherry and oak. Full bodied and creamy.
Finish
A bit underwhelming, sour bitterness, oranges and spices, medium-length. Long finish with a touch of ethanol, figs, cherry, blackberry, currant, caramel. A long, satisfying, rich fruity tingle around the mouth. Robust and intense with bitter-sweet notes of exotic spices, dark chocolate and oak.
