Description
Akashi Blended Whisky is a blend made at the Eigashima - White Oak distillery located 30 kilometers west of the city of Kobe, in the Hyogo prefecture, Japan. This export version is made from malt and grain whiskies, with some sources indicating a blend of 30% malted barley and 70% grain whisky. It is aged in Bourbon casks, with some mentions of ex-sherry cask finishing, and also Japanese Shochu casks. It is described as smooth and round, with notes of oak and vanilla. It is often recommended for highballs.
