Nose
Immediately rich, deep and fruity, with good amounts of honey, Kyoho grapes, blackberries, blueberries, and fruit jam. Initial aromas are very expressive of the Cabernet Franc cask. With time, more earthy notes emerge, with bits of espresso, soil, black truffles, and a little mossy, evocative of freshly toiled soil or a forest floor. The fruits become more concentrated, like raisins, dried prunes, and dried apricots, with some tobacco leaf notes.
Palate
Noticeably full-bodied and almost chewy in texture, with heavier dried fruit notes like raisins, prunes, and apricots.
Finish
Long, silky, buttery, like finishing off a slice of pound cake, with more orangette and clove notes.
