Description

A single malt whisky from Akashi, produced by Eigashima Shuzo (formerly White Oak Distillery) in Hyogo, Japan. This 3-year-old release was matured entirely in a first-fill Oloroso sherry cask. It is non-chill filtered and non-colored, bottled at 50% ABV in a 500ml bottle.

Nose
Complex yet not overwhelming. Nice buttery warm sherry, raisins, sultanas, a bit of cinnamon and nutmeg, orange zest, rich toffee, raspberry, cassis.
Palate
A splendid taste with a warm feel to it. Not too smoky but silky smooth. Lots of sherry fruits, caramel, raisins, buttered rum batter, honey, cassis, raspberry, johannesbeeren, peach.
Finish
Clean, crisp and smooth. Relatively short with caramel, cassis, cinnamon, toffee, black tea.
