Description

A Japanese distillery located in the town of Akkeshi on the island of Hokkaido, specially selected for its similar climate to those of the Scottish Outer Hebrides. Its peated single malt is all aged on the island. This heavily peated single malt matured in a sherry butt, celebrating both craftsmanship and international friendship. Bottled in limited quantity for Claude and Salud, this dram promises a bold and multi-layered experience.

Nose
An explosion of smoky peat intertwined with rich notes of raisins, dried plums and dark chocolate. Subtle hints of orange peel, leather and clove linger in the background.
Palate
Full-bodied and powerful, with thick waves of smoke and deep sherry influences. Layers of candied fruits, espresso, liquorice and toasted oak dance across the palate. The peat remains constant but is beautifully softened by a creamy sweetness.
Finish
Long, warming and full of character. Persistent smoke, a touch of sea salt, dark berries and soft spices leave a rich and memorable impression.
