Description

Those cheeky chappies at the Whisky Exchange really pulled the wool over our eyes with this one. When they announced an April Fools release called "Extremely young, wish I were older" we took them entirely at face value. Imagine our complete surprise when they revealed that the whisky inside wasn't young at all, and was in fact a 30 year old mystery Speysider. Boy do we have egg on our face. 51.7% ...

Nose
Remarkably fresh and "yellow" with notes of lemon drizzle cake, vanilla sponge, Victoria plum, buttercream, coconut macaroons, polished oak, beeswax, and a hint of mint imperial. It also presents juicy gooseberries, pineapple jelly, white peaches, pears, oranges, and biscuity vanilla.
Palate
Big and oily, leading with candied lemon slices and pineapple cubes, followed by white chocolate and milk bottle sweets. It develops a sophisticated spice profile of black pepper, nutmeg, and ginger powder, balanced by menthol and aniseed.
Finish
Long, sweet, and buttery, with vanilla butter cookies and a gentle oak tingle. Notes of aniseed, nutmeg, and a hint of mint cream persist.
