Description
The Ardbeg 17 Year Old was first released in 1997, marking one of the initial bottlings after the distillery's reopening under The Glenmorangie Company's ownership, following a period of inactivity since the early 1980s. This expression, matured in ex-Bourbon casks, became a flagship product and was known for its unusually delicate and less peaty profile compared to other Ardbegs, incorporating some unpeated stock. It was bottled at 40% ABV and chill-filtered, and was eventually retired in 2004 due to limited stock.
