Description

Taking its name from the Gaelic meaning of "shelter" or "pasture," this Ardbeg Single Malt Scotch Whisky was distilled in 1990 and bottled in 2006. It is a highly regarded, heavily-peated expression from the Islay distillery, matured in first and second-fill bourbon casks. This limited release showcases a complex character with a balance of peat, sweetness, and coastal notes.

Nose
Sweet, creamy, and coastal with vanilla, pineapple, black pepper, lime, warm tar, seaweed, hot sand, and drying sea salt. Hints of dark toffee, honeydew melon, toasted cereal, and restrained peat.
Palate
Creamy vanilla, ashy, spicy peat, and brine with black pepper, pineapple, lime juice, charred caramelised oak, and salted butter. Also noted are smoked cereal, crispy bacon, spices, syrup, hay, gentle malt, medicinal, and oily black olives.
Finish
Long with creaminess, vanilla, sweet & sour pineapple, black pepper, sea salt, oyster shells, tarry natural rope, liquorice, and spicy, ashy peat. Other notes include honey, spices, smoked meats, persistent seaweed, black peppercorns, oily black olives, and briny smoke.
