Description

Ardbeg Auriverdes - Gold Edition is a limited edition single malt whisky released on Ardbeg Day 2014. Its name, Auriverdes (gold and green), refers to the golden whisky and Ardbeg's iconic green bottle, and also pays homage to the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil. This expression was matured in American oak casks with specially toasted lids, a technique designed to impart unique mocha coffee and creamy vanilla notes.

Initially sweet, then coffee grounds, smoked root vegetables, maple-cured bacon, hot smoked salmon, hickory smoked pork, smoked salmon, smoked vegetables/herbs, licorice, biscuit cake, white pepper, sweet and salty balance, creamy vanilla, light dark chocolate, peach, medicinal phenols.
Finish
Lingering smoky vanilla, long, mocha coffee, smoke, cocoa, charred corners of a pulled pork butt, ashy, very dry, ash and soot, spicy liquorice, gentle peat smoke, sweetie peatie, chocolate, vanilla, spicy oak, salt, drying out with cocoa, hay.
