Description
Released in October 2008, Ardbeg Blasda is a limited edition Islay single malt, notable for being a lightly peated version of Ardbeg, with a peat level of 8ppm, significantly lower than the distillery's usual output. Bottled at 40% ABV and chill-filtered, it was also controversially presented in clear glass, departing from Ardbeg's iconic green bottles. The name 'Blasda' is Gaelic for 'sweet and delicious', reflecting its intended softer and more approachable character. Approximately 18,000 bottles were released globally.
