- Nose
- Dark chocolate, figs, coffee, tobacco, smoke, with PX dominating the Ardbeg peat. Notes of asphalt, road tar, sour fruits, blood orange, blackberries, and mahogany. Clean, crisp peat, integrated smoke, exhaust, and mesquite, presenting as drier than most sherried whiskies.
- Palate
- Creamy and full-bodied, with peat, dark chocolate, orange, brown sugar, and mild spices. Dense peat smoke coils with rich sherry-fruited notes of figs, raisins, red plums, dark chocolate, and orange zest. Spice hints of cinnamon and clove meet a maritime edge. A flash of fruity, tangy sweetness, then fading to dry notes of soy sauce, spicy mesquite barbecue, A1 steak sauce, and meaty notes. Peat rises on the back palate with consistent smoke throughout.
- Finish
- Long, with leather, salt, smoke, and spices like nutmeg and cloves. An exceptionally long, peaty finish clinging with smoky warmth and PX-sherry sweetness. Raisin, date, and dark chocolate mingle with sea-salt and spice, leaving a woolly, ash-dusted finale that lingers as the peat slowly fades. Dry wood char, red wine, and peat with fading smoke.
