Description

Ardbeg Heavy Vapours is a limited-edition single malt Scotch whisky released for Ardbeg Day 2023 and Fèis Ìle 2023, specifically as a Committee Release. This experimental whisky was created by Dr. Bill Lumsden, who, for the first time in Ardbeg's modern history, removed the purifier from the still during distillation. This process allowed the 'heavy vapours' normally kept at bay to surge into the spirit, disrupting the familiar balance between peat and floral fruitiness and resulting in a heavier, darker, and more untamed Ardbeg expression. It was matured in ex-bourbon casks and bottled without chill-filtration at 50.2% ABV.
