Description

This is one of the four legendary Ardbeg Provenance bottlings, distilled in 1974 and released between 1997 and 2000. This first release was available in the UK, EU, and Asian markets. It was bottled to commemorate the rebirth of the Ardbeg distillery in 1997, when Glenmorangie PLC acquired it, and underwent a 23-year maturation process.

Palate
The malt is soft at first but then, the peatiness gathers pace and intensity until it positively glows.

The oak Bourbon-malt-peat-cocoa characters all ebb and flow but is joined by a late fruity ripeness and a sprinkling of peppers.
