Ardbeg Seann Chreag 21 Year Old is a rare and complex single malt whisky from the Ardbeg distillery on the Isle of Islay, known for its heavily-peated expressions. This 21-year-old release, inspired by Islay's highest point, Beinn Bheigier, was matured in a combination of Oloroso sherry and bourbon casks, creating a rich balance of sweet and smoky flavours. It is a travel retail exclusive, bottled in 2024 at 46.8% ABV and is non-chill filtered.

Nose
Rich, malty and biscuity, with tangy dried fruits, hickory smoked ham, barbecue spareribs, and treacle toffee. Hints of charred oak, pine resin, menthol, salty sea breeze, chimney soot, creosote, and tar, with a mellowed peat and notes of damp forest floor.
Palate
A viscous mouthfeel with powerful tarry peat smoke, demerara sugar, syrupy figs, aniseed bonbons, nut toffee, charcoal, graphite, leather, and damp peat bog. Smoked red meat, black pepper, charred and burned oak, mustard seed, dark chocolate, and sooty peat.
Finish
Long and lingering with subtly briny notes, eucalyptus, camphor, menthol, and tar. Rich vanilla, juicy blackberries, seasalt, burnt wood, and old leather.
