Following the incredibly popular Ardbeg Committee release of Supernova, this general release sold out quickly as well. Ardbeg Supernova was the peatiest Ardbeg bottled to date at 100ppm, and an estimated 18,000 bottles were released in January 2009. A distillery located on the south coast of the Isle of Islay. Sweet vanilla cream, a powerful burst of ashy peat and burnt wood, accompanied by medicinal undertones, spiciness, oak tannins, and big fruity notes.
Finish
Long and smoky, with lingering ashes, iodine, and sea salt, evolving into dark chocolate, and a dry, tart character.
