Description

Built to provide whisky for the Teacher's blend in 1898, Ardmore's main production is a peated whisky. This is a limited edition 12-year-old Ardmore, distilled in 1986 and bottled in 1999 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Ardmore distillery, which was built in 1898. It was rated 94 points in Jim Murray's Whisky Bible.

Tangy Green Apple Chips, Apple Cider, Soft Applewood Smoke, Distant Coal Smoke, Vanilla Cream, Creamy Peach, Dried Barley Grass, gentle and building peat, tropical fruits, rich toasted oak, candied citrus notes.
Palate
Apple Oil, Malty Porridge with Cream and Raisins, Baked Green Apples, Hay, Brown Sugar, Toffee, delicate sweet fruit and undertones of smoke, building peat and tropical fruits, springtime blossom, vanilla and soft spice, orange flavors and peat.
Finish
Smoked Applewood Chips, Charcoal, Smoked Raisins, Coal Dust, Earthy Peat, Dark Chocolate, short, but nicely salty, though it dies away too quickly.
