Nose
Fine, dry smoke hovers over the glass, rather glowing than strong. Beneath are light mineral notes, pebble and a hint of chalk. Ripe yellow fruits – apricot, pear, a little mirabelle – emerge reservedly, accompanied by delicate herbs and a hint of honey.
Palate
Smooth and clearly structured. The smokiness appears elegant and restrained, while a fine salty and mineral tension enlivens the palate. Behind it, mild stone fruit, a touch of grapefruit peel and subtle spice from the well-integrated wood. Everything seems balanced, without any heaviness – a classic, mature Ardmore in old-school style.
Finish
Long, dry and mineral, with a fine thread of smoke and delicate, persistent fruitiness in the background. A calm, very elegant finish.
