This Ardmore single malt, part of the Old Malt Cask series, was distilled in October 1996 and aged for 20 years in a refill hogshead. It is described as rich and clean with notes of barley, toffee, and hints of smoke. This 1996 vintage is lightly peated and was double matured in first-fill bourbon casks and ex-Islay casks.

Palate
Peppery peat, robust vanilla, flamed orange peel, crushed summer berries, Scots pine, thick meadow grass, sweet entry, lemon, mineral smoke, muskier lemon, pineapple, peach, and wet, hot tarmac.
Finish
Light, honeyed, elegant peat, needed sweetness, gentle presence of rosemary, medium-long, fruit and smoke mix, lingering pepper, and lemony.
