Description

Located upon the breathtaking Loch Sunart, Ardnamurchan distillery is a comparatively new powerhouse which opened for production in 2014. Champions for green manufacturing, the distillery and all of its by-products are environmentally friendly and entirely sustainable. Ardnamurchan uses malt from Broomhill Farm and boasts two whisky styles; one peated and one unpeated. This 'AD/ Paul Launois Release' is a limited edition single malt Scotch whisky, part of a collaboration with Domaine Paul Launois, a Champagne producer. It is matured initially in ex-bourbon casks and finished in Paul Launois Champagne barriques, and is bottled without chill-filtration or artificial coloring.

Nose
Rich, boozy, dessert-forward with peach melba, tinned peaches, rum-and-raisin ice cream, salted caramel, tangy orange icing, lemon curd, lemon thyme, and toasted coconut. Also notes of orchard fruits, honeycomb, and buttery brioche.
Palate
Weighty, viscous, and powerfully fruity. Macadamia nuts, rhubarb crumble, Dulce de Leche, white chocolate, candied salted cashews, vibrant citric acidity, Szechuan peppercorn, tangerine zest, and a dense, buttery core. Silky texture with white grapes and mineral acidity.
Finish
Long, sumptuous, and cleansing. Lingers with menthol, candied lemon peel, sea salt, and a sophisticated, drying effervescence. Medium length with notes of candied lemon and sea salt.
