Description

Located upon the breathtaking Loch Sunart, Ardnamurchan distillery is a comparatively new powerhouse which opened for production in 2014. Champions for green manufacturing, the distillery and all of its by-products are environmentally friendly and entirely sustainable. Ardnamurchan uses malt from Broomhill Farm and boasts two whisky styles; one peated and one unpeated, using American and European... This particular release is a 9-year-old peated single malt, distilled in 2015 and matured for nine years in a first-fill ex-bourbon barrel. Bottled in 2025 by independent bottler Single Cask Nation at a natural cask strength of 59.0% ABV, it is non-chill filtered and limited to 270 bottles.

Nose
Sweet barley, honeycomb, and fresh pear, with fresh oakiness, Robinsons fruit cordial, lemonade, chocolate, honey, and light peat smoke. Strawberries and cream, lemon sherbet, and a hint of burnt newspaper emerge with time.
Palate
Bright and mouth-coating, with creamy vanilla and toffee meeting crisp green apple and citrus peel. Caramel, candy floss, strawberry syrup, raspberry ripple ice cream, and custard cream biscuits. Toasted oak, malt biscuits, and a touch of coastal farmyard, with a warming cinnamon spice.
Finish
Medium-long and bold, with the oakiness giving a tingly finish.
