Description

The 2023 release is the sixth in the Arran Harmony Edition series, created to celebrate the Arran Malt & Music Festival. This limited edition single malt was matured in a sherry butt and a ruby port pipe, both filled in 2012 and bottled in 2023 at a cask strength of 57.7% ABV. It comes in a distinctive purple guitar-shaped presentation case, with only 1000 bottles produced.

Nose
Sensory overload right off the bat. You can smell the sherry so prominently. You get the dates, raisins, sugar notes but there's also some the tropical DNA of the Arran spirit present. After that initial wave of sherried goodness the ruby port comes in and adds a deeper, darker note, which smells so rich and decadent.
Palate
It arrives on the palate much like it smelled. The favor hits you with a POW and the waves of deliciousness roll across your tongue. The taste coats your mouth and makes the tongue tingle. There's a hint of the tropical fruit notes, mingling with the dark fruit notes until the ruby port comes in and makes its presence known. There's the dark stone fruit notes, a super decadent dark chocolate note and a rich espresso.
Finish
The finish just lingers into oblivion. After 10 mins I could still taste this whisky on my tongue.
