Description

Released in 2014, this was the third and final edition of The Devil's Punch Bowl trilogy. The vatting consisted of 21 casks; eight of which were oloroso sherry casks, another eight were French oak barriques and five were bourbon casks. One of two malt whisky distilleries owned by Isle of Arran Distillers, Lochranza was the first to be opened in 1995. The distillery's flagship single malt brand is Arran. This is a limited edition of 6,660 bottles worldwide.

Perfumed and aromatic toasted oak, white stone fruit, fizzy citrus, musky peach, ripe melon, vanilla panna cotta, earthy chocolate, peach melba, with fresh peach and citrus, slightly earthy notes, and hints of figs, dates, and honey.
Palate
Chocolate fudge, white pepper, aromatic and sweet spices (cinnamon & toasted vanilla), cheesecake (filling & biscuit base), waxy orange, floral melon and spicy ginger. Warming with big notes of vanilla and cinnamon, wine-like sweetness, developing floral hints, pepper, orange peel, silky sherry, red berries, and a hint of wood smoke.
Finish
Floral and aromatic spice, peppery oak, melon and ginger, demerara sugar, dried apricot, white chocolate, rum truffles, liquorice sticks and fizzy sherbet. Very long, lingering and luxurious, with spicy oak and fading cinnamon and pepper spicing.
