Description

This is an 18-year-old single malt whisky from the Auchentoshan distillery, independently bottled by The Scotch Malt Whisky Society (SMWS) as cask 5.86. Auchentoshan is a Lowland distillery known for its triple distillation, which contributes to a lighter and more delicate spirit. This particular expression was distilled in 2003 and matured in a first-fill ex-bourbon barrel.

Nose
Delicious sweet nose on apricots, honey and sandal wood. Floral touches that seem fairly exotic. Quite a few esters! Waxy! This is a fruit bomb.
Palate
Honey and apricots return, supplemented with apple juice and grapefruit. Something of cinnamon and camphor. Even some marzipan and lemon sorbet. Toffee apples and cotton candy. Banana cream in white chocolate.
Finish
Wonderfully long finish, a bit spicy but above all very sweet and pleasant. Summer in your glass!
