Nose
Very deep aromas of beeswax furniture polish, cedar, rosewood, mead, pastrami, and strong espresso coffee. Also, sulphury notes, bicycle tyres, rubber, barley malt, oaty and honey flapjack, rye bread, leather, soft ripe fruits (apple, pear, orange, peach), citrus (lemon, lime), floral blossom, and nutty overstewed coffee. Fine, polished leather and powdered dark chocolate are dominant, with raisin sweetness, nutty sherry, and a lightly sulfurous, meaty edge.
Palate
Walnut oil, salty almonds, buttered sourdough, green apples, floral blossoms, and a bright finish like Pinot Grigio. Sweet brown sugar, syrup, treacle, baked fruits (apple pie, pear tart), rubberiness, tannic leather, dried stone fruits, raisins, citric elements (lemon, lime juice and zest), rich, moist, dark coffee, and walnut cake. Leather and sweet spices, nutty sherry, and a medium, spicy mouthfeel with boozy raisins.
Finish
Medium-long, tannic, nutty, and rich dark fruit. Oddly salty, like an amontillado from Sanlúcar.
