Nose
Rich, grassy, delicate with drying hay, honey, ripe summer fruits like peaches and pears. Herbal notes of verbena, lime-tree, and aniseed. Hints of smoke, vanilla, warm berry fruits in spiced cream, orange peel, old bookshelves, and tropical fruit sweetness with honey, sultanas, and apricot.
Palate
Rich texture, thick and satin-like, with some oiliness. Sweet and fresh, with lots of aniseed, star anis, and custard. Creamy and soft, highly complex and layered, with light smokiness, oak shavings, and a real silkiness with water. Vanilla toffee, lime, walnuts, light chocolate, cherries in sherry, rum and raisin ice cream. Malted cereal notes and sugared barley. Oak, ample malt, dried sultanas, citrusy edge, chocolate covered nuts, and candied fruit.
Finish
Sweet, intense, and lingering. Cinnamon and citrus zest. Walnut, tangy lime, dry, coffee cake, jelly, raisins, and light spice. Oak, cereal, and barley notes. Fruity, zesty with a touch of cocoa powder and oak. Spicy with aniseed and oak.
