Description

The Balvenie 1981 DCS Compendium 35 Year Old Chapter Three is a single malt Scotch whisky from the Speyside region, bottled in 2017 at 43.8% ABV. This 35-year-old expression, distilled in 1981, is part of "The DCS Compendium," a super-premium series of 25 single cask bottlings released in five chapters to celebrate the 55-year career of Malt Master David C. Stewart MBE. Chapter Three, titled "Secrets of the Stock Model," showcases Stewart's skill in stock management and features five single cask whiskies, each representing a significant year in the distillery's history. The 1981 vintage, drawn from refill American oak hogshead #7824, marks the year the distillery would have used this vintage for its first DoubleWood whisky. Only 186 bottles of this particular expression were released.
