Description

The Balvenie 12 Year Old DoubleWood is a renowned Speyside single malt Scotch whisky, celebrated for its distinctive character derived from maturation in two different wood types. It is initially aged in traditional American oak ex-bourbon barrels and hogsheads, then transferred to European oak sherry casks for a finishing period, typically around nine months. This process, pioneered by Malt Master David C. Stewart MBE, imparts layers of vanilla spiciness from the bourbon casks and fruity, honeyed depths from the sherry casks. The whisky is then married in large oak 'tuns' for several months to harmonize the flavors. This 'Makers Set' is presented as a limited edition gift set.
