Released in the early 2000s, this 1989 vintage was matured in bourbon casks before a finishing period in port pipes. Fresh and nicely sherried, with honey, caramel, vanilla, sweet wine notes (gewurztraminer vendanges tardives), hints of oak, pepper, and gingerbread.
Palate
Sweet and creamy attack, with wine, apple compote, honey, a dash of white pepper, red fruits, roasted spices, cassis, cherry, fig, and a soft wine-like depth.
Finish
Rather long, on sweet wine and oak.
