Description
Built by the Grant family in Dufftown, Balvenie is known for producing a sweeter, more honeyed, and very lightly peated new make spirit. This 21-year-old single malt is part of The Balvenie Stories range, specifically the fifth edition, "The Second Red Rose." It pays homage to the legend of Margaret Douglas, who paid her rent to King James II with a single red rose from Balvenie Castle. The whisky was initially matured in American oak ex-bourbon barrels before being finished in Australian Shiraz casks, imparting a distinctive blush and a sweetly vibrant, rounded depth of flavor. It was released in 2021.
