Description

A malt distillery that was located in the Highland region of Scotland and operated until 1983 when it was closed by the Distillers Company. Primarily run for the provision of blended Scotch brands, it has only been officially released once and is generally confined to independent bottlings. One of Scotland's most iconic and long-running independent bottling brands, Connoisseurs Choice, introduced by Gordon & MacPhail, features this Banff 1974 vintage. The Banff distillery was later demolished in 1991.

Clean, nutty, with citrus, new oak, and dry straw. Hints of honey, grass, apple, and mild smoke.
Palate
Aggressive attack with oranges, malt, and vanilla. Develops notes of cape gooseberries, honey, apple, grass, black pepper, and smoke. Also oak, vanilla, dried cranberries, and heather with a subtle smoky character.
Finish
Grassy with black pepper, smoke, goji berry, and a lingering peppery warmth.
