Bell's Original Blended Scotch Whisky is a well-known blend crafted from a meticulous selection of malt and grain whiskies, with Blair Athol distillery's malt at its heart. It also includes whiskies from Speyside, the Lowlands, and the Islands, all matured in selected oak casks for a richer flavour. Nose
Quite soft and gentle. Malted barley and hints of cut herbs and a fresh floral note. Cereal and grist with a little honey. Sweet and malty with fudge-like aromas, sugar crystals, orchard fruits like red apples, cut green grass, and oaty husks. A subtle hint of gentle peat smoke underneath.
Palate
Quite smooth, medium body. Barley and cereals with nut oils, hints of wood and spice. Creamy and soft, with smokiness more pronounced than on the nose, reminiscent of ashy bonfire smoke. Sweet honey, rich toffee, crisp red apple, sugary sultana, butterscotch, malty cereal notes, gingerbread, and muscovado sugar. Gentle nuttiness and a touch of spice.
Finish
Short with notes of fruitcake and smoke. A distinct white peppery heat accentuating sweetness and smoke. Clean and lingering pleasantly, with oak spice and a touch of nuttiness coming forward, and a subtle hint of smoke.
