Description

Bellevoye Prune is a French Triple Malt whisky, a blend of three unpeated single malts sourced from different French distilleries (e.g., North of France, Alsace, and Brittany). These single malts are aged between 3 and 8 years in French oak casks. The whisky then undergoes a finishing process for several months (e.g., 3 to 6 months) in casks that previously held Vieille Prune or prune d'ente brandies, imparting a unique depth and fruity complexity. Launched in 2019, this expression is known for its intense fruity character and has received multiple awards.

Nose
Aromatic notes of dried plums, dark cherries, and a touch of vanilla, accompanied by a subtle spiciness. Widely dominated by yellow and white fruits, with plum, mirabelle plums, apricots, peaches, and pears. Hints of fresh plum liqueur, discreet woodiness, malt, grist and citrus, with a very intense fruity intensity.
Palate
Richness of stewed plums, dark chocolate, and delicate oakiness. Velvety smoothness and nuanced sweetness, complemented by hints of baking spices. Fleshy, slightly acidic with fruity flavors, evoking the crunch of freshly picked plum. Resolutely fruity and plum-like, like eau de vie, dry and tender. Softly woody and herbaceous, abundantly greedy and refreshing, with a balance between roundness and freshness, and a full and silky texture.
Finish
Long and satisfying, with lingering notes of dried fruits, warm spices, and a touch of almond. Long and persistent on notes of almonds and stewed fruits. Medium-length, limited to plum brandy and malt.
