Description

Distilled at the foot of Britain's highest peak and laid down in a solitary bourbon hogshead, this whisky matured for a full quarter-century before Cadenhead's released it—unchill-filtered, natural colour, and at natural cask strength—in June 2025. Only 168 individually numbered bottles emerged, revealing Ben Nevis's muscular malt gently mellowed into waves of vanilla-cream, tropical fruit and subtle coastal smoke.

Nose
Orange and pastry, old wood, grassy and slightly floral, musty earth and paper, hints of chocolate and earthy teas. Vanilla clotted cream, raspberry jam, strawberry tart sauce, barley sugar. Orange zest, rice paper, mango, whipped cream, and raspberry jam.
Palate
Medium to light-bodied, citrusy and woody, tropical fruits and pastries, pineapple, slightly floral, grassy and earthy with old wood. Silky layers of toffee custard, malt loaf and baked apple coat the tongue, chased by white-pepper warmth, toasted coconut and a delicate thread of earthy smoke. Lots of tropical fruits! Kiwi, dried mango, lemon drizzle cake. Citrus fruits on the front end of the palate transitions into more tropical fruits on the mid palate. There's apple purée, tangerine, kiwi and plenty of mango.
Finish
Medium to long and slightly drying with old wood, tea, and subtle tropical fruits. Long, satin-smooth and lightly drying—lingering honeyed cereal, soft oak spice and a final flourish of citrus zest and gentle mineral peat. Cinnamon sticks, dark chocolate chips, heather honey. A cracked black pepper spice appears on the medium finish with the aforementioned notes.
