Description

A historic malt distillery located in the Highland region of Scotland. Since 1989 it has been Japanese-owned as part of the Asahi Group. Although it only produces single malt today, the distillery dabbled in grain whisky production from 1955 to 1984, even producing rare examples of single blends.

Fig newton, chestnut, walnut, apple pie, marzipan, salty sea air. Dusty leather, faint deep dark tobacco, honey bbq sauce.
Palate
Oily and full. Fig newton, chestnut, walnut, apple pie, marzipan, boysenberry, strawberry rhubarb pie, meaty, faint hint of rich tobacco. Also dense dark chocolate, dried fruits, cherries, cranberries, raisins, vanilla, dark oak, sherry, espresso, nutmeg, almond, pastry, fresh raspberry and strawberry jam, blackberries and slight orange rind.
Finish
Spicy fruit jam, sherry, dusty leather. Perfectly balanced, a bit drying. Long and delicious.
