Description

This whisky was distilled in November 1996 before being bottled in June 2007. Part of the distillery's Forgotten Bottlings range, this release has a convoluted story that involves the distillery re-acquiring bottlings from a previously privately bottled hogshead. A historic malt distillery located in the Highland region of Scotland. Since 1989 it has been Japanese-owned as part of the Asahi Group.

Nose
Deep savoury nuttiness, funky saline, mouldy wine cave, white peaches, parmesan cheese rind, Spanish vermouth with olives, soy sauce, slight wood smoke, and boozy festive desserts.
Palate
Sweeter, lightly oily, nutty, menthol, pronounced vinous quality, red berries, barley sugar, cinder toffee, burnt toast, very mature Gouda, nougat-praline, creamy, aromatic spiced oak, ginger, toffee apples, and mulled cider spices.
Finish
Lingering impression of oloroso-soaked chocolate.
