Description

A historic malt distillery located in the Highland region of Scotland. Since 1989 it has been Japanese-owned as part of the Asahi Group. Although it only produces single malt today, the distillery dabbled in grain whisky production from 1955 to 1984, even producing rare examples of single blends. *

Sweet strawberry dragees with whipped cream and vanilla, exotic passion fruit, ripe pear, and stone fruit in jelly. Vegetal and chalky notes with celery, green leaves, and a hint of leather. Underlying stewed peaches, oranges, sour berries, honey, light vanilla, pink banana, and cardamom.
Palate
Creamy and oily, with crème brûlée, yellow fruits, peach, and nectarine. Spicy herbs, gentle pepper, and ginger notes. Vegetal and umami with sunflower oil, nutmeg, mustard, grapefruit zest, aniseed, and green pepper.
Finish
Long and warming, with a herbal pudding character, fruity-spicy notes, gentle oak, green spice, citrus zest, and dried herbs.
