Nose
Big on sherry with strong spicy notes, leathery with a hint of engine grease, bananas, dates, and a slight hint of smoke. Also rubber plimsoles, sherry fizz, walnut, herbal notes, spicy cloves, developing into massive fruit and Christmas cake spices.
Palate
Fierce with a lot of sherry cask spiciness, curry spices, coriander seeds, and other spices. Drying with a clear smack of oak, syrupy mouth coating, grilled banana, mango-like sweetness, and some charcoal. Also dark brown sugar, treacle, figs, cinnamon/nutmeg spice building to pepper, reminiscent of Fireball Gobstoppers.
Finish
Fierce with a very warming heat, thick to an almost sticky level. Fruit, spices, and a toned-down oak are present, leading to a long finish. Spicy and sherry-influenced elements, with a little oily rubber returning.
