Description

After being founded by John Duff & Co in 1897, the distillery was mothballed for 65 years with only its floor maltings being used for the Longmorn distillery next door. After experiencing great success under the ownership of Billy Walker and his partners, it won Distillery of the Year from Malt Advocate magazine in 2007 and has received rave reviews for its peated and un-peated expressions alike. This is a special edition bottling of 10 year old single malt Scotch whisky from the BenRiach distillery, celebrating the 10th anniversary of Billy Walker and two South African businessmen buying the distillery in 2004. In September 2004, the new owners filled their first casks of BenRiach single malt. This 10th Anniversary release features whisky from four casks which were filled in the first week of BenRiach's production under new ownership.

Nose
Ripe white pear, fruit salad syrup and rich clotted cream hold a crisp twist of candied peel and soft vanilla.
Palate
Crisp barley with peppery toasted oak and stem ginger flood over rich crème brûlée, coconut butter and vanilla poached pear. Lovely mouthfeel of buttery pastries, tropical fruit, spicy fruit salsa, vanilla, cinnamon buns, spongecake, honeycomb, coconut, pineapple chunks.
Finish
Pineapple with a dusting of icing sugar, custard tarts, pancakes with syrup, cinnamon, creme brulle and more pineapple and tropical fruit than a tropical island.
