Description

After being founded by John Duff & Co in 1897, the distillery was mothballed for 65 years with only its floor maltings being used for the Longmorn distillery next door. Nose
Elegant aromas of ripe pineapple, fresh mountain herbs, and sweet peat with a pungent blast of peat smoke. Notes of grapefruit, lemon peel, toffee, cocoa, vanilla, and fruity honey.
Palate
A fantastic fusion of rich peat and smouldering embers bound by fresh herbs like oregano, aniseed, and chicory. A rush of sweet wild honey provides contrast, with very fruity and rich notes, and an explosion of peat smoke.
Finish
Long, smoky, and fruity, with notes of gentian, bitter herbs, rocky peat, sourdough, mirabelle plum, coriander, and basil.
