Nose
Sweet, ripe fruits, especially apricots and mangoes, followed by toffee and slightly spicy tones. A lush bouquet of dried fruits—figs, dates, and blackcurrants—meets a generous swirl of caramelized brown sugar and treacle. Beneath these indulgent layers lie subtler notes of toasted nuts, old leather, and polished oak furniture, with a gentle whisper of espresso beans lending further depth.
Palate
Mouth-filling and complex, with sweet fruits again, then soft butterscotch and fudge. Initial impressions of fruitcake, plum jam, and chocolate fudge are complemented by spicy waves of cinnamon, clove, and hints of candied ginger. A distinct malty core gives the dram structure, balancing the dessert-like richness with a pleasing earthy undertone.
Finish
Long-lasting finish with a pleasant fruitiness and light spicy hints. The sweetness gradually tapers into a delicate dryness, accentuated by cocoa nibs, roasted walnuts, and a touch of tobacco leaf. A lingering touch of sherried fruit and gentle oak spice ensures the memory of each sip endures well beyond the last.
