Description

Founded in 1826, Benrinnes distillery is located in Scotland's Speyside region and is known for its rich, meaty character, partly due to its distinctive partial triple distillation process and the use of traditional worm tubs. This 23 Year Old expression, distilled in 1985 and bottled in 2009 at natural cask strength (58.8% ABV), is a limited edition release of 6,000 individually numbered bottles, part of Diageo's highly anticipated Special Releases. It was matured in sherry casks, contributing to its thickly sherried profile. The whisky is described as muscular and full-bodied with concentrated sweetness, superb balance, and an exceptionally long, dry, and warming finish.
