Gordon & MacPhail have experienced such success with Benromach since they took over the practically derelict distillery in 1993, that in 2016 nine new washbacks were installed, increasing the potential capacity of the distillery to seven hundred thousand litres per annum. While this might sound like small potatoes compared to some of the Speyside titans, it shows remarkable confidence in the rejuv ... A thick, sherried single malt from the Benromach distillery with lovely spice, distilled in 1968 and aged for 39 years in a refill sherry hogshead.
