Nose
A very appealing nose presenting a balanced mix of leather, chocolate, earthy vanilla and toasted oak. Clean nose with a strong oak presence, some biscuits and spices with a gentle vanilla.
Palate
Medium body and a feisty spiciness up front. It comes across as fairly smoked (not peated) on the first wave, then it mellows out and offers juicy notes of orchard fruits, black and white pepper and oaky spiciness. Mouth-filling texture, with a clear barrel presence, spices, rounded with caramel and a gentle, smoky after taste.
Finish
Medium long finish, a bit drier now, still rather sweet. The spices have more or less left, and the smokiness has morphed into notes of dark chocolate and leather. Pleasant, second-hand peat with hints of tobacco and biscuit.
