Description
James Buchanan & Company is a dormant subsidiary of the drinks giant, Diageo, who inherited it and its brands from United Distillers in 1997. They continue to market a number of the company's most notable products in various export markets however, including its Buchanan's and Black & White blends. Black & White Scotch Whisky is a well-loved blended Scotch with a long history, originally created by James Buchanan in the late 19th century. It's known for its iconic label featuring two Scottish terriers. Black & White was initially marketed as 'The Buchanan Blend' and later renamed 'House of Commons'. The idea for the famous terriers, a black Scottish Terrier and a white West Highland White Terrier, also came from the founder himself.
