Description

The original PINTAIL, named after the dabbling duck, was first bottled and distributed by Perth-based wine and spirits merchant, Matthew Gloag & Son, in 1912. This unique Single Malt, distilled and filled at BLAIR ATHOL, ATHOLL, in 2009, was matured for 12 years in a refill ex-Bourbon hogshead then finished in a barrel which previously held the highly-prized Italian fortified wine, MARSALA. It produces on the nose a rich, full-bodied whisky, with notes of red fruits, berry, toffee, warm spice, caramelised fig and peppery oak.
