It turned out its first releases in 2022 and these are collected into series based on the theme of different cask maturation styles. A historic Highland malt distillery that makes up part of the extensive Scotch whisky holdings of Diageo. One of the oldest in Scotland, it dates back to the late 18th century. This Blair Athol release was finished in a 1st fill ex-Tawny port pipe, which yielded 325 bottles. The whisky matured for a total of 14 years, including 18 months finishing in the aforementioned tawny Port pipes. It is part of The Goldfinch Wine Series.

Nose
Dried fruits, wet leaves, and dunnage warehouse. Creamy vanilla and ripe orchard fruits. Creamy, butterscotch, almonds with vanilla, hint of oak which is beautifully smooth and rounded.
Palate
Rich and full bodied. Deep and sweet notes of dark chocolate with strawberry and raspberry jam filling. Hints of orange zest. Creamy vanilla. Wet leaves and hints of oak. Gorgeous silky butterscotch, vanilla but gently imparting rich red fruit and a mild malty tannins.
Finish
Medium to long finish. More of the same rich, dark fruitiness. Chocolate with juicy jam filling. Tobacco leaves, cut grass and fizzy notes of pink peppercorns. A gentle lingering finish with fruits and smooth caramel makes it very easy to reach for a second dance.
